Recap: PNWH2 Tribal Webinar

From the beginning, the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) has engaged with tribes and tribal-led organizations at the Hub level through state and tribal liaisons to learn and understand concerns and interests in all aspects of the Hub, especially in their region. We are committed to ensuring real economic benefits for tribal members and communities impacted by the clean energy transition through sustainable and responsible environmental, cultural and socially equitable efforts. Engagement with Tribal Nations is key to the vision and success of the PNWH2 Hub.

PNWH2’s Community Benefits team hosted a webinar on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST to share details of the Hub’s plans for Phase 1 and engagement efforts with tribes and Tribal leaders.

Speakers included:

  • Chris Green – PNWH2 President
  • Jaclyn Perez – PNWH2 Operations Director
  • Kathleen McAteer – PNWH2 Community Benefits Plan Lead, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Student Affairs at Washington State University Tri-Cities
  • Zoe Higheagle Strong, Nez Perce – Tribal Engagement Lead, Washington State University
  • Cary Rosenbaum, Colville – Tribal Community Specialist, Washington State University
  • Brian O’Donnchadha – Tribal Liaison, Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, U.S. Department of Energy
  • William (Bill) Iyall, P.E. – Cowlitz Indian Tribe Chairman and PNWH2 Board Member
